Through our partnership with World Food Program USA* (WFP), we are feeding children nutritious meals in school and giving them the energy they need to learn. It's one of the most effective ways of empowering children to break out of the poverty cycle they were born into. We think that's not only important, but beautiful.
WFP’s experience shows that when children are given meals in school, attendance increases, more girls receive an education and performance greatly improves. For many children, a school lunch is the only meal they receive all day. This breaks our hearts!
School feeding also gives impoverished families an incentive to send children to school. This is especially true for girls, providing them with an education opportunity they would potentially not have.
Empowering girls is the key to healthier communities. Girls with more education have fewer children, have them later in life and are better prepared to care for and educate them. Studies have also shown that a woman’s education contributed to 43% of the reduction in child malnutrition over time.
We’ve also partnered with Children’s Hunger Fund to provide Food Paks - boxes of nutritious, non-perishable staple foods like rice, pasta, beans, canned vegetables and meat - to offer relief for families who suffer from food insecurity in North America and around the world. Through our partnership, we are providing vital nutrition and hope to children in need.
Our partner Breakfast Club of Canada provides nutritious morning meals before school starts, giving children the energy to learn. Children who receive this healthy, balanced breakfast have shown marked improvements in behavior, concentration, academic performance, social skills and self-confidence. With our partnership, we are nurturing children's health and helping them realize their potential.
We’ve partnered with WE Charity to provide meals through WE's School Nutrition Program in Kenya. Our partnership provides meals to 11,500 children at 21 schools. The nutritious meals are centered on the traditional staples of maize and beans, supple-mented by fresh fruits and vegetables from school gardens. The program is an incentive for school attendance, increasing the chances for these children to lead a self-reliant life.

Breakfast Club of Canada
BreakfastClub of Canada works to empower every child to realize their full potential by providing a healthy morning meal before classes start. One child out of five in Canada is at risk of starting the school day on an empty stomach due to lack of access to nutritious food. In aboriginal and immigrant communities, this ratio can be much higher. By providing millions of nutritious meals to children before school, Breakfast Club of Canada gives an equal chance of success to all kids.Learn more at breakfastclubcanada.org

Please share the giving book with anyone you think might be interested in our heirloom quality dolls and the cause they support. It would mean the world to us.
So is fair trade.
We started cuddle+kind to be a reflection of our values. That's why all our hand-knit dolls are ethically produced in Peru where we provide incredible artisans with a sustainable, fair trade income.
Fair trade is a different way of doing business. It’s about making principles of fairness and decency a part of the products we buy. Fair trade is a way for all of us to identify products that meet our values so we can make choices that have a positive impact on the world.
One of the reasons we started cuddle+kind was to set a good example for our children. It’s one thing to tell them they can achieve anything if they follow their hearts, but it’s another to show them! It was also important to us to demonstrate to them that kindness can and should always be a part of who you are, especially at work.
We believe in the power of business to help others and that it’s possible to build both a fulfilling and rewarding career by trying to make the world a better place. cuddle+kind provides an opportunity for our children to see first-hand how they can help others and how each of us can make a difference.

We believe social businesses can help change the world. Imagine if all businesses operated responsibly, sustainably and with a mandate to help others. The world would be a very different place.
Part of our goal at cuddle+kind, is to inspire other businesses to create their own mission to give back. It’s extremely fulfilling when success is measured by more than just profits; it’s measured by the children we help.
It’s also very satisfying to create a stream of sustainable giving that’s not reliant on fundraising. For those who crave meaning in their work, we highly recommend creating a business with a social mandate.
We’re not the first to do it, and we certainly hope we’re not the last. The more kind-hearted businesses there are, the better a place the world will be for all of us.
